Goodbye 2012 ... Hello 2013

Goodbye 2012 … Hello 2013!
... 2012 taught me just how short life is, so for me for 2013 … I pray that I will be a bit more grateful, patient, brave, creative and more understanding.  I pray that I will be less judgmental and eat less pasta.  I pray that I will continue to be healthy enough.  I pray that I will continue to be warm and dry and have a roof over my head.  I pray that I will always have what I need and have the ability to work hard for what I want.  I pray for more quality time to spend with family and friends.  I pray that I can somehow make a positive difference in this world.  I pray that I do not put off the things I want to do, for another day may not come.  I pray for peace … and if these things work for you, I pray for them for you too.
thankful for YOU and praying that your wishes come true in 2013

in remembrance of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School

this piece started out on a legal pad
just after Thanksgiving

my first painting on an 8" wooden round paint panel

the panels are made by American Easel, llc
and are made in the U.S.A.

purchased from Dick Blick

I thought it was done on Wednesday, December 12th
after I painted 18 stars across the top.
After Friday, December 14th ... I added 2 more stars, in remembrance of the 20 bright little children that were lost that day from this earth during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Connecticut.

with my own version of the words of Luke from the Bible ...

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men. ~ Luke 2:14
King James Version (KJV)

Prayers for the Sandy Hook Elementary School Families

Thank YOU Stef and Rich

Early Christmas present from Stef and Rich (and Jack and Kai) made by Susan Fairgrieve Design.  Our driftwood Christmas tree!  This tree is made from Jersey shore driftwood.  A portion of the sale of this driftwood tree helps to restore the shore and directly helps Hurricane Sandy victims at the Jersey shore.  Check out more of Susan's work at The Coastal Collections!

LOVE our driftwood tree!  Thank You Rich and Stef!

Gonna jump on my broom and head over to PPF, although the above 'technically' doesn't qualify for a PPF share, I did 'paint it' ... kinda :)  I'll make up for it next week!

Woodstock the Ghost and ...

"Art is a collaboration between God and the artist,
and the less the artist does the better."
~ Andre Gide,  French critic, essayist, & novelist (1869 - 1951)

Like the way this 'peace' came together and LOVE the above quote.  Although, I know planning is important, this 'peace' just materialized from one of nature's Chinese bottle gourds and my God given gift to express myself with a little bit of paint and a brush.  One of my life's blessings (for which I am very grateful) sprinkled into the craziness!

I call him Woodstock!

he has some slightly invisible friends that always accompany him ...

gotta have a spider to eat the bugs!

need a witch on a broom and a harvest moon!

... and a scary old tree and bats and pumpkins!

and PEACE, we gotta have PEACE!
just in time for Paint Party Friday too!  See ya there!
