chopped this root out of the ground with my shovel ... amazed at how it had grown and how i had chosen where to place my shovel ...
when i twisted a tiny root that was growing from where the roots came together ... it sort of looked like a crown of thorns.

May Day and the garden center was packed with people who all had the same thought. The weather was perfect for cleaning up the mess that winter has made of the yard. Flowers to plant and weeds to pull and grass to cut. Feels good being out there working, doesn't it?
